• Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is the largest hotel franchise company in the world, with 25 Global Brands in 95 Countries, approximately 9,200 Hotels & Resorts, and approximately 876,000 rooms. This facility is the Avenue Plaza Resort in New Orleans, a 14 story Resort within the downtown part of New Orleans. The facility sits on the major Parades route in the heart of the Garden District, not far from the French Quarter and especially strategic and important during the numerous Mardi Gras celebrations.
  
  
• Due to the lack of Fall Protection, Service and Maintenance workers on the rooftop were required to work in an unsafe environment since the existing rooftop patio fence was located inside most of the RTU locations. As well, they were not able to have the outside of the windows cleaned for a number of years because window washers would no longer do the work without appropriate Fall Protection.
  
  
• As a result of not being able to wash the many windows at the facility, dirty windows had become a common complaint by customers and owners. The rooftop patio area has a decorative fence, but workers had to use a step ladder that straddled the fence to access the other parts of the roof where HVAC equipment is located, or in-order to do emergency repairs of leaks in the aged roof as the fence was limiting roof access. With only one gate that is locked for the safety of the people on the patio, navigating the roof in a safe way was not possible.
